Ridgewood crash

The most serious was a car going over what may be a retaining wall on East Glen Avenue in Ridgewood, between Gateway Road and Standish Place (see map). East Glen Avenue was closed indefinitely. Medics, as well as several tow trucks were called.

About an hour later, a Range Rover hit a tree just up the road. The driver was OK, police said.

Cars have been sliding all over, including on the Washington Avenue hill in Westwood. A truck took out a “yield” sign as the driver lost control coming off Route 17 onto Linwood Avenue leading to Westwood.

A sign was toppled by a vehicle at Lincoln and Wortendyke in Emerson. A short time later, a crash was reported on nearby Forest Avenue.

No injuries were reported in a smack-up near Demarest Farms.
