The recital will feature two of Mozart’s most dramatic sonatas — Sonata No. 8 in A minor, K. 310 and Sonata No. 15 in F, K. 533 — alternating with Brahms’s beloved intermezzi, ballads, and romances, Klavierstücke, Op. 118 and Op. 119.
Parlance Chamber Concerts was founded by Metropolitan Opera Orchestra principal flutist Michael Parloff in 2007 to bring world-class instrumentalists and singers to Northern New Jersey in affordable and innovative concerts and educational events.
Six public concerts will be presented this season in the sanctuary of West Side Presbyterian Church, 6 South Monroe St. in Ridgewood:
October 4, 2015: Richard Goode, piano
November 15, 2015: Jeremy Denk, piano and Stefan Jackiw, violin
December 13, 2015: Kristin Lee, violin; Paul Watkins, cello; and Gilles Vonsattel, piano
March 6, 2016: The Escher String Quartet
April 3, 2016: Sir James Galway, flute, and Friends
May 15, 2016: James Morris, bass-baritone; Rafael Figueroa, cello; and Ken Noda, piano
Tickets cost $40 for adults, $30 for seniors, $20 for young adults and $10 for students.
