Five Shot In Jersey City, Teen In Custody Five people were shot in Jersey City in separate incidents on Thursday, Dec. 29, and a 16-year-old boy has been charged in one, authorities said. The first incident happened around 9:30 p.m. when the boy shot a 14-year-old victim in the left thigh at Armstrong Avenue and MLK Drive, city spokesperson Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The 17-year-old boys from Hudson and Monmouth counties walked into Good Guy Vapes on Main Street in Hackettstown and started to asked about different items just before 6:25 p.m. Friday, local police said. The suspects then failed to show identification when trying to purchase the items, authorities said. Man, Teen Wearing Ankle Monitor Arrested In Shooting Of 9-Year-Old Girl In Newark A 22-year-old man and 15-year-old girl previously arrested last month in a Newark carjacking were charged in connection with last week's shooting of a 9-year-old girl in Newark. The victim's 16-year-old sister and her 15-year-old friend had gotten into an argument on June 30 around 5:25 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara said.
