A Jersey City woman whose two sons and mother were found last year in a feces- and flea-infested home deliberately sneezed on another customer during an argument at the local Target, authorities said Wednesday. Detectives who investigated the COVID-related incident at the 14th Street store last week signed complaints against Bernadette Bisogno, 49, state Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal said. A shoplifting suspect from Prospect Park ran a red light, crashed his Lexus into two other vehicles and was taken into custody after fleeing the Target in Clifton Commons, authorities said. A Rahway man who belonged to the Union County Police Department has been found guilty of using his position to commit a string of small thefts at department stores, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said Friday. Blake Clay, 36, was convicted on charges of theft, theft-by-deception and official misconduct. He is scheduled to be sentenced in November, when he faces up to five years in prison and a permanent ban from public employment in New Jersey. Shoppers at the Target store in Jersey City Friday afternoon were treated to a surprise visit from none other than Taylor Swift. The singer said on her Instagram account she visits the retailer in various cities as part of "an inventory check," an apparent reference to her latest album Lover. Aggravated Assault: Edgewater Officers Injured In Scuffle With Target Shoplifter
What began as shoplifting put a man behind bars after he assaulted two Edgewater police officers, authorities said. Joseph Holman, 36, had been going in and out of the Target on River Road, changing his shirt each time and stuffing electronics into his backpack, Detective Sgt. Timothy Farrell said. A 17-year-old Irvington girl was reunited with her mother Wednesday after she was accidentally locked inside the Target store on Rt. 22 E in Union, police said. Hackensack police released new images of a man who they said robbed a Valley National Bank of $10,000 last month. They also released photos of the getaway car.
