His stomach was obviously healthy enough for him to head there twice in the same weekend. The Freehold native did the E (Main) Street shuffle on Friday, Nov. 17 and again on Sunday, posing for pics at the former Tony’s Freehold Grill with Chef Robert…

Mastermind Of Historic $175M Psychic Mail Scam Convicted, Feds Cite More Than 1M Victims
The mastermind of a mass-mailing scam that stole $175 million from more than a million victims, most of them elderly or ailing, was convicted by a federal jury in New York City. Patrice Runner, a 57-year-old Canadian and French citizen, directed a ruthless psychic mail scheme for over two decades, beginning in 1994, the jurors found. It was one of the largest -- if not the largest -- scam of its kind ever, the U.S. Department of Justice said on Friday, June 16, in announcing the verdict reached a day earlier on Long Island. Runner sent mailings to millions of Americans that claimed t…

PA Lawmaker Proposes 32-Hour, 4-Day Workweek
Is your whole weekend spent recharging for the workweek? Does "hump day" seem to never come soon enough? Then new legislation proposed by a Pennsylvania lawmaker is right up your alley. State Rep. Chris Rabb, a Philadelphia Democrat, hasn't formally introduced his bill yet, but he's calling for a four-day, 32-hour work week. The bill would ask the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to conduct a cost-benefit study of the shorter workweek. "Everyone deserves to work to live and not live to work," Rabb said in a news release. A California congressman also has proposed a fou…

19: With Concert Experiments Succeeding, Big Shows Could Return This Fall, Fauci Says
Successes with experimental concerts in Spain and Germany have convinced Dr. Anthony Fauci that big shows could return to the U.S. this fall -- provided Americans reach an effective level of herd immunity. “I think you can start getting back to almost full capacity of seating,” the nation's top infectious disease expert said during a virtual live event over the weekend. “What the performing arts needs to do is to do a little bit more of what the Germans are doing,” Fauci noted. A controlled experiment in Germany featuring a show by pop singer Tim Bendzko safely accommodated about 1,400 at…

Federal authorities have smashed the world’s largest dark web child porn marketplace, arresting a whopping 337 people around the world – some of them in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut -- all thanks to bitcoin. To sniff out the network, investigators used a unique strategy. "Welcome to Video" was one of the first websites of its kind to monetize exploitation videos of infants, toddlers and other children, "one of the worst forms of evil imaginable," one federal prosecutor said. The network used bitcoin because of the difficulty in tracing it, the Justice Department said in a complaint…
