New Supermarket Opens In Passaic County
Food shoppers in Passaic County have a new place to browse the aisles. Bloomingdale Supermarket by Foodtown celebrated its grand opening on Friday, Jan. 5. The new 8,000 square foot supermarket is at 78 Main St. in the borough, replacing the former IGA supermarket. The supermarket, run by Adam Shapiro and his family, plans to offer natural and organic items, fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, specialty meats and cheeses and fresh flowers. Organic Morristown Burger Restaurant Abruptly Closes Doors
An organic burger joint has closed up shop just two years after opening in Morristown. Bareburger on South Street — opened in November of 2019 — is permanently closed as of Monday, according to the Morristown, NJ Instagram page. The restaurant has also been removed from the website’s map of locations. Bareburger had developed a reputation for using organic, sustainable, and ethically-sourced ingredients, as well as having a vegan-friendly menu. Former New York Giant David Tyree will soon open up a juice shop in Morristown with his wife. The Livingston native and former wide receiver and his wife, Leilah, will open a Clean Juice shop at 68 South St. in Morristown. The couple signed a franchise agreement with the company last August. Organico in Ramsey will be closing this weekend. The award-winning, all-organic cafe and market opened on Franklin Turnpike 17 years ago. Its last day in business will be Sunday, Jan. 5, owners announced on social media. The organ, vegan and gluten-free eatery opened at the former site of Cups Organic on Essex Street (across from Bank of America next to the former Black Rebel Burger).
