Driver Crawls Out Of Overturned Car Following Norwood Crash: Police
A 54-year-old Hillsdale resident was largely unscathed after his vehicle overturned in Norwood on Thursday, Sept. 19, police said. The driver was heading south on Summit Street when the vehicle struck a parked car and overturned around 8:10 p.m., Norwood Police Chief Christian Federici said. Norwood EMS responded to the scene and assessed the driver, who Federici said declined transport to a hospital. Four-Alarm Fire Crashes Wedding At Popular Bergen County Venue, No Injuries Reported
A wedding was underway when a boiler fire broke out at a popular Bergen County event venue early Thursday night, authorities said. The four-alarm fire extended to the second floor of The Rockleigh on Paris Avenue after igniting in the boiler room shortly before 6 p.m., Northvale Police Chief Howard Ostrow said. Firefighters had it under control in under 40 minutes, the chief said. Downed Utility Lines Spark Leaf Blaze, Cut Power To Norwood Businesses
Fallen utility lines knocked out power to several area businesses and sparked a leaf blaze in Norwood that was doused by firefighters on Monday. The lines fell in the area of Broadway and Livingston Street outside the Chase Bank shortly before noon. Norwood firefighters were joined by their colleagues from Closter, Demarest, Harrington Park, Haworth and Northvale, as well as borough police and EMS and the Closter Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Corps. Two special young boys will be treated to a parade of first responders this Sunday in Waldwick, thanks to Pink Heals of Bergen County. Both Cole McKeon of Waldwick and Austin “AJ” Katchen of Cliffside Park were diagnosed months apart last year with Stage 4 neuroblastoma, a type of cancer that attacks certain types of nerve tissue. Six Hospitalized, One Extricated In Three-Vehicle Norwood Crash
UPDATE: Six people were hospitalized following a three-vehicle crash Saturday night in Norwood. Firefighters extricated one of the victims in the Livingston Street crash, which occurred just before 7 p.m. The four most seriously injured were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center.
