A North Jersey man with a history of suing public agencies is at it again -- this time, he's after New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. New Milford's Yoel Weishauss on Tuesday filed the suit in federal court in Brooklyn, New York, the New York Daily News first reported. : Former North Jersey Police Officer Fired Over EMT Work During Pandemic
A former Morris County police officer has filed a lawsuit alleging he was forced to quit for taking a job as a Bergen County EMT during the COVID-19 pandemic. Clifton's Thomas Trommelen says he was forced to resign from the Harding Police Department after officials there refused to approve his work as a Fort Lee EMT, over fears he would be at risk for contracting Coronavirus, according to the suit filed last week in state Superior Court in Morris County. The Atlantic City firefighters union has filed a lawsuit saying the city took an "ineffective approach" to handling the COVID-19 pandemic after 65 firefighters were exposed to the virus. Liquidation sales are under way at all Century 21 stores after the company announced Thursday it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. A former Rutgers University worker says he was exposed to hazardous chemicals that caused him to have major seizures, according to a federal lawsuit. Jacob Moskowitz claims that Rutgers' chemistry department hired him as a scientific glassblower with no experience in that job. Then he was asked to handle chemicals that he said caused epilepsy and anxiety. One of the hazardous materials was thorium, a radioactive metal found in rocks and soils, according to the suit.
