Support is on the rise for the family of former New Jersey high school baseball player Nicholas "Nick" Cocchia, who died suddenly on Monday, Aug. 26, according to his obituary on the Rossi Funeral Home website. He was 25 years old. Nick was raised in Mountainside before moving to Kenilworth with his family, his obituary says. The construction worker killed in a Kenilworth trench accident earlier this month has been identified as a 29-year-old former Rutgers University athlete. Corey Greg Stasenko, of Cranford, was killed on Monday, May 6, during a project on Monroe Street, Daily Voice has learned. A long-abandoned railroad track that runs through Union County will soon be transformed into a hiking and biking trail, thanks to a $1.5 federal grant. Pickup Driver Dead, 7 Passengers Hurt In Pre-Dawn Parkway Crash
A 69-year-old pickup truck driver died and his seven passengers were hurt in a crash on the Garden State Parkway Tuesday, June 7, authorities said. Thomas F. Gilbert Jr. was heading south near milepost 140.3 in Kenilworth when he crossed all lanes of travel, causing the van to hit the front left side of the truck around 4 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt.
