OH, Daddy: Hackensack Man Lied In ID'ing His Son As Hit-Run Driver, Teaneck Police Charge
UPDATE: A Hackensack man lied when he told police that his son was the driver of a hit-and-run pickup truck that struck and severely injured a Teaneck woman in a local shopping plaza parking lot, authorities said.
Edward O. Asante, 49, "initially told us his son was the driver," Police Chief Glenn O'Reilly said Friday afternoon. "He now admits to providing a false statement regarding his son being the driver."
The man behind the wheel of the 2014 Ford F-150 Thursday night was Lynval A. Francis, 49, of Englewood, who works for Asante and doesn't have a valid driver's license, O'Reilly said. …

Hackensack police raided an ex-con’s apartment Friday and seized 461 heroin folds, 82 Oxycodone pills, pot and $1,170 in drug proceeds, authorities said.
Cyrus Maurice Hammond, 27, had been dealing in the neighborhood of mid-rise and garden apartment buildings near Hackensack High School and Carver Park, Capt. Darrin DeWitt said.
Records show that the unemployed Hammond already had a history of drug-related arrests and convictions in Hackensack and Englewood.

Hackensack Carpet Installer Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Same Juvenile For Years
A 55-year-old carpet installer from Hackensack is accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile under the age of 18 for years, authorities said Thursday.
Luis Morocho-Sacaquiri, who is married, was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, sexual assault by contact, endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated sexual contact Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
An investigation was launched Tuesday, Nov. 10, following a tip to police, Musella said.

Hackensack PD: Police Flood Neighborhood, Capture Fleeing NYC Parolees
Hackensack police grabbed two Brooklyn parolees who tried to flee a Monday afternoon traffic stop, authorities said.
Narcotics detectives smelled raw pot after stopping their vehicle at the corner of Prospect and Poplar avenues shortly after 2:30 p.m., Detective Capt. Darrin DeWitt said.
