Rolling Into Pascack's ER After Crash An ambulance didn't have far to go after collecting a driver involved in a rollover in Westwood. Members of Westwood Fire Department Rescue 17 extricated the driver through the SUV's roof following the crash on Old Hook Road at Charles Street right outside the entrance/exit for Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center shortly before 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 24. The Township of Washington Volunteer Ambulance Corps brought the victim into the emergency room. There was no immediate word on possible summonses or charges or the extent of injuries.

The supervisor was working on a car when the mishap occurred at the Alpine facility just off off Route 9W around 11 a.m., responders said. He didn’t lose consciousness but was bleeding from a head wound, they said. Norwood Boy, 8, Injured When Bicycle Rams Pickup Truck An 8-year-old Norwood boy was banged up Tuesday afternoon when he crashed his bicycle into a pickup truck, authorities said. The boy went through stop sign and broadsided the truck at Norwood Place and High Street around 3 p.m., Police Chief Jeff Krapels said. “He took one hell of a shot,” Krapels said. The youngster had assorted scratches, bumps and bruises but didn’t lose consciousness, the chief said. He was taken to Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood with his mother to be evaluated, he said.
