Talk about a high profile: Glen Rock firefighters plucked a stranded cable TV contractor from his bucket after it became stuck in the air, then he began snapping selfies on the way down, witnesses said. The hydraulic arm apparently malfunctioned, leaving the worker suspended above Hanover Place off Heathcote Road shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday. A young man was seriously injured in a crash in Glen Rock. A Toyota Celica with temporary license plates rammed a Toyota RAV 4 at the corner of Maple Avenue and Rodney Street late Saturday afternoon. A 66-year-old Bergenfield man who was carrying a substantial amount of cash was beaten and robbed by a pair of ruthless thugs who left him in the parking lot of the Glen Rock warehouse where he works, authorities said. Glen Rock police released surveillance image photos Thursday night in the hopes of identifying the assailants. Man Struck, Killed By Commuter Train In Glen Rock
A man was struck and killed by a commuter train before dawn Friday in Glen Rock, authorities said. NJ Transit and Glen Rock police responded about a half-mile south of the Main Line train station shortly before 2:30 a.m., borough Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. They found the victim in a wooded area near the Route 208 overpass, he said. A 92-year-old woman was struck by a sedan while in a parking lot in Glen Rock Mother's Day, authorities said. The woman was crossing on the 800 block of Prospect Street when a 2010 Honda driven by a 36-year-old Fair Lawn man hit her around 6:15 p.m., Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. The Honda driver remained at the scene and the woman was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, by the Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps, with non-life-threatening injuries, Ackerman said.

No one was injured when a tractor-trailer took down a light pole and got stuck on a concrete stanchion in the parking lot of a Glen Rock supermarket. Man Struck By Train In Glen Rock
Service was suspended to New Jersey Transit's Main Line after a man was struck by a train Thursday morning. The incident occurred in Glen Rock at 176 Rock Road, suspending service between Ridgewood and Paterson around 8 a.m., local police and NJ Transit officials said. The victim was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson. There were no reported injuries to the 15 commuters or crew on board of the train, Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackerman said. Injuries Reported In Multi-Vehicle Hawthorne Crash Off Route 208
At least three occupants were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle crash in Hawthorne early Tuesday afternoon. A Volkswagen Jetta and Chevy Malibu were severely damaged in the crash on Lincoln Avenue at Rea Avenue near the exit from northbound Route 208 in Glen Rock.
