Erik J. Midgley, a dedicated Bergen County Public Safety dispatcher and lifelong community volunteer, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Nov. 10, according to his obituary on the Hunt-Stellato Funeral Home website. He was 47 years old.
Known for his reassuring presence during emergencies, Erik spent many years as the calming voice on the other end of the line for those in crisis, his obituary says. His legacy includes years of volunteer work with the Palisades Park and Fairview Ambulance Corps.

The community is rallying to help provide a memorial for Christian Pacas, who was gunned down last month in Hackensack.
Pacas, 22, was remembered on a GoFundMe as a "spirited life" with "big dreams for himself and his family."
The campaign, launched by Maria Pacas, had raised more than $8,800 as of Wednesday afternoon.
"Anyone that knew him knew how true he was to himself and that is something anyone can say is extremely rare," Maria Pacas wrote. "He always had a way to make you laugh, smile, and lift you up."

ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. – Deran Stenborg of Elmwood Park died January 3. He was 45.
