Police have identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash on Route 17 in Bergen County this week. Daniel Wenzel, 37, of Milford, PA collided with another vehicle on the southbound side of the highway near the Essex Street ramp in Maywood around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10, Maywood Police Detective Sgt. William Phayre said. Wenzel's Facebook profile shows he has ties to North Bergen and was a marine diesel mechanic at the NY Waterway. Didn’t take long for Maywood police to find 53-year-old ex-con Shawn Todd of Hasbrouck Heights, who authorities said accosted the owner of Timely Cleaners & Furriers on West Pleasant Avenue late Thursday afternoon. A Maywood police officer nabbed a wanted couple in a stolen minivan after they pulled into the parking lot of a closed car wash, authorities said. MAYWOOD, N.J. -- Bergen County's bomb squad had a busy Friday morning in Maywood after a trio of suspicious bags were found in the same area. All turned out harmless. Two separate backpacks were found by a police officer at an Essex Street bus shelter near Maywood Avenue around 4:45 a.m., Police Chief David Pegg said.
