Lawsuit Over Drowning Closes Popular Jersey Shore Town Beaches: Mayor
An apparent lawsuit over an off-season drowning has led to the closure of popular Jersey Shore beaches, authorities said. : No Swimming At NJ Beach Due To Fecal Bacteria
One of New Jersey's beaches were closed for swimming Friday after a second batch of water samples showed high levels of fecal bacteria. Swimming advisories were initially issued at 13 beaches, where enterococci levels exceeded 104 colony forming units (cfu) Monday. NJ Beach Reopens After Closed To High Levels Of Fecal Bacteria
A New Jersey beach has apparently been reopened after being closed to to high levels of fecal bacteria. There were no swimming advisories or closures as of Thursday evening for New Jersey beaches on the NJDEP website. A water sample at the Stockton Avenue beach in Long Beach Township showed elevated levels two days in a row, prompting the closure Wednesday. If you were planning on heading to the L Street beach in Belmar this weekend, maybe reconsider. The beach was closed by state environmental officials after tests revealed water in the Shark River contained bacteria levels more than double of what's considered safe.
