Police: Boxed-In SUV No Problem For Glen Rock Thief Who Drives It Across Owner's Lawn
Boxing his unlocked SUV in with his wife’s car didn’t help a Glen Rock owner: A thief simply drove it across the front lawn, authorities said. The Central Avenue resident said he parked his Audi Q5 in the driveway with the key fob still inside Saturday night, Lt. Frank Riggo said. His wife later pulled her car in behind it, he said. When the owner woke up the next morning, the Audi was gone. Riggio reminded residents and merchants to lock their cars and never leave the key fobs or valuables inside.

Paramus Officer Chases Ex-Con Car Thief Down GSP Following Route 17 Pier One Mercedes Theft
A Paramus police officer nabbed an ex-con with a history of pursuits after a car stolen from Pier One Imports on Route 17 was involved in a chase down the Garden State Parkway Monday night that ended in a crash in East Orange. The store employee’s 2013 Mercedes Benz was warming up during Monday’s Arctic-like temperatures when at least two thieves jumped in and took off just after 9 p.m., Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said. A accused shoplifter scooped up by Wyckoff police turned out to be an ex-con from Michigan with a nearly 40-year criminal record who was wanted in Florida, records show. Sgt. Mark Tagliareni stopped 62-year-old Ronald A. Schneid as he drove a Toyota Camry with a temporary Arkansas license plate out of the Boulder Run Shopping Center on Franklin Avenue “to confirm a valid registration,” Lt. Joseph Soto said. PATERSON, N.J. – Nine men from Paterson were charged with burglarizing a Clifton auto dealer twice and stealing vehicles from eight other dealerships in four counties while using juveniles as accomplices, authorities announced Thursday.
