Driver Rear-Ended, Killed While Parked On NJ Turnpike: Police A 42-year-old man died when he was rear-ended while parked on the New Jersey Turnpike earlier this week, police said. Jerome Christal-Gattanella, of New York City, was parked in the shoulder of the northbound side of the highway near milepost 107.1 in Newark around 11 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, New Jersey State Police said.
