Irene Veronica Heinige, 93, Of Little Ferry

LITTLE FERRY, N.J. – Irene V. Heinige, a resident of Little Ferry, died Friday, July 8. She was 93.

Born in Worcester, Mass., she moved to Little Ferry and was married for 59 years to Ferdinand A. Heinige, former mayor of Little Ferry.

She was past president of the Rosary Society and the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion. She also was active in community affairs. She was a devoted animal lover and rescued many cats and dogs.

She is survived by her daughter, Veronica "Bonnie" Richardson and her husband, Dr. Robert Richardson; grandchildren, Diana and Kimberly Richardson; and cousins James and Kiki Pantazis of Toronto, Canada.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ferdinand A. Heinige; and two brothers, Wiliam and George.

Visitation will be on from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Trinka-Faustini Funeral Service, 439 Maywood Ave., Maywood. The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. There will be a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret of Corton RC Church, 31 Chamberlain Ave., Little Ferry. Burial to follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
