Paramus police are searching for two people trying to commit credit card fraud at a local shopping center who smashed a patrol car before fleeing on Thursday, Jan. 23. The incident occurred at approximately 12:23 p.m., when officers responded to reports of in-progress credit card fraud at fled Best Buy in the Fashion Center, located at 34 E Ridgewood Avenue, Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said. High-Speed Pursuit Of Stolen Audi Along Route 17 Ends In Route 3 Crash: Cops
Three men were arrested early Wednesday morning, Jan. 22, after a stolen Audi Q5 led Paramus police on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash on Route 3, authorities said. Paramus police received an alert around 3:16 a.m. about a stolen white Audi traveling southbound on Route 17 at high speed, Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said. Police ID Pedestrian Struck, Killed Outside Of His House By Pickup In Paramus
Police have released the identity of the pedestrian struck and killed by a pickup truck outside of his Paramus home on Wednesday night, Jan. 22. Eduardo Cinca, 82, was trying to cross Farview Avenue when he was struck by a 2019 Dodge Ram heading north around 6:50 p.m., Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said. Paramus officers immediately performed lifesaving efforts, however, Cinca was pronounced deceased at the scene by on-site paramedics. The pickup truck was operated by a 48-year-old borough resident. A 62-year-old NY woman was arrested Tuesday, Jan. 21, after a shoplifting incident in Paramus escalated into a police pursuit and ended in a crash in Ridgewood, authorities said. Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with residential burglaries in Paramus that date back to August 2024, police announced. One of the suspects had previously been arrested last September for burglarizing cars in an East Rutherford hotel parking lot.
