Demolition Of Nabisco Site Resuming Year After Postponement
Almost a year after it was called of amid public outcry, plans to demolish the shuttered Nabisco factory in Fair Lawn have once again been finalized. "Demolition at the Nabisco site is expected to resume shortly, with state approval. A non-explosive demolition will be undertaken," said a post on the borough's website on Monday, April 22. Nabisco Implosion Called Off Completely
Amid public outcry, the company behind plans to implode the shuttered Nabisco factory in Fair Lawn is reversing course. Greek Development, which is redeveloping the property, sent out a statement Monday, May 8, and said the building will not be imploded. Body Found By Demolition Crew In Jersey City Home
A demolition crew found a body on the second floor of a Jersey City home under construction last week, officials confirmed. The man's body was found around 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29, at the home under construction on 10 Irving St., city spokesperson Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said. The house had been vacant since suffering heavy damage in a fire in August 2021. Developers of the Stop & Shop property on Route 17 in Paramus are hoping to have a new grocery store and dining options approved by borough officials next month. An Applebee's, Chick-fil-A, Taco Bell and Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas would open in five free-standing buildings proposed for the site, currently leased by indoor sports facility The Arena, NorthJersey.com reports.
