Bonnie Astudillo of Berkeley Elementary and Kelly LeParc of Brookside Elementary have been working to implement the program. Both teach English as a second language.
"Over the past several weeks, the program provided bilingual books and materials to Spanish-speaking families," the school district noted in a Friday Facebook post. Student members of the Westwood Regional High School Interact Club also assisted with the program by providing childcare.
"The Interact Club is a service club sponsored by local Rotary clubs which gives young people an opportunity to participate in meaningful service projects while developing leadership skills and meeting new friends," the club's school website notes. This club is sponsored by Rotary District 7490.
