Westwood Students Have 'Can Do' Attitude

WESTWOOD, N.J. -- An assembly for spirit day recently took place at an elementary school in Westwood.

Violet Waskielewicz’s third grade class at Westwood Regional School District’s Jessie F. George School brought in 64 cans for the local food pantry.

Westwood Regional School District’s Jessie F. George School performed a Peer Pals skit highlighting the “Pillar of Character” during the March Spirit Day assembly.

The program emphasized that one caring act can make a big difference. 

Afterward, Peer Pals challenged the students to bring in at least one canned good to show how one can could make a significant impact. 

George School students brought in a total of 411 cans, which will be donated to the local food pantry. 

Violet Waskielewicz’s third grade class brought in the most cans, with 64.
