HILLSDALE, N. J. -- Pascack Valley High School English teacher Matthew Morone's more open and independent approach to teaching sophomore honors English may be different but it's producing good results, according to NorthJersey.com.
The curriculum is the same as what's approved by school officials, but the delivery -- described as "non-linear" -- is very unique. Students sit in an open classroom with a large table and chairs and couches, rather than rows of desks, reported NorthJersey.com.
Students are free to delve into the assignments at their own pace, and track their progress on mastery cards. It is making the learning more enjoyable, students and administrators have said, according to NorthJersey.com.
