Emerson School District Honors Retiring Educator

EMERSON, N.J. -- Longtime Emerson Teacher James Bayley announced he will retire at the end of the school year.

Bayley taught both regular and special education for 40 years in the district. He also served as the President of the Emerson Education Association for 35 years.

Bayley has been the recipient of The Governor’s Teacher Recognition Award, Emerson’s 2006 Volunteer of the Year and the Russell Berrie Foundation “Unsung Hero” award.

The district is planning a retirement party to honor Bayley on June 1 at The Terrace at Biaggio’s from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Former students, community members and friends are welcome to attend. 

The cost of the party is $60.00 per person and checks are payable to Memorial School Sunshine.

The deadline is April 29.
