Plans for the 3½-story wood structure on a 1¼-acre parcel of land on Overlook Drive include a temple, social hall and school, the web site reported.

The proposed facility will consolidate administrative space currently in Montvale, a Hebrew school that is now located in Park Ridge High School, and occasional use of the Woodcliff Lake Hilton. Several variances are requested, including height and coverage, northjersey.com reported.

A group calling itself Woodcliff Lake Residents for Reasonable Development have called the proposed facility a “fortress,” according to the web site.

They've cited the overall size of the proposed building, traffic, safety issues, and the impact on neighboring properties, northjersey.com reported.
