Former councilman Robert Rosenblatt said Council President Carlos Rendo and Councilwoman Jeanine Chiavelli caused him distress by calling for an ethics investigation into Rosenblatt's role with a group opposing the borough's possible purchase of the former Galaxy Gardens property, the story said.

Rosenblatt said the officials continued to talk about the ethics issue even after he left the council, NorthJersey.com said.

The lawusit was filed last week in Superior Court in Hackensack; it also named the Borough of Woodcliff Lake as a defendant, NorthJersey.com reported.
