PARK RIDGE, N.J. -- Marianne M. Smith, of Park Ridge, died Tuesday, Aug. 23. She was 73.
Smith spoke fluent French and was a member of the French Club. She loved the arts and took many courses on art history in New York City, she was an avid crafter and had a million friends.
She was the wife of the Rev. Kenneth Smith for 51 years; mother of Stefan and his wife Nirvana, Ethan and his wife Rose and Joshua and his wife Elise; sister of Daniel Malaun; and grandmother of Cameron, Sarah, Donovan, Andrew and Evan Smith.
She enjoyed a 35-year career in education. She was a teacher and retired as assistant director at the Rockland Teachers’ Center in Haverstraw, N.Y.
There will be a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church of Park Ridge, 130 Berthoud St., Park Ridge. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Robert Spearing Funeral Home Inc., 155 Kinderkamack Road, Park Ridge. Cremation will be private.
