Edith Haystrand, 80, Westwood Resident

WESTWOOD, N.J. -- Edith Haystrand, a Westwood resident and formerly of New Milford and Brooklyn, N.Y., died Monday, Feb. 1. She was 80.

" 'Grandma Eda,' as she was known to all, loved caring for, and cooking for friends, family, and strangers alike," according to obituary information from Volk-Leber Funeral Home. "She selflessly always put her family first, and her kindness and generosity knew no bounds."

She is survived by daughters Diane and her husband Frank Lento and Cathy and her husband Tom Johnson; daughter-in-law Debra Leibowitz; grandchildren Nancy and her husband Michael Tumulty, Lisa Haystrand, Kate and Susan Lento, and Dana and Kim Johnson; great-grandson Thomas Russell Tumulty; brother Otto Hess and his wife Jeanne.

Haystrand was predeceased by her husband, Richard Haystrand; and her son, Russell Haystrand.

Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at Volk-Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell. A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at the funeral home with interment to follow at Hackensack Cemetery.
