Carl William Weil, 81, Of Montvale

MONTVALE, N.J. -- Carl William Weil, 81, of Montvale, died May 24, 2016 while recovering from heart surgery.

Weil was being cared for by the loving staff of Woodcliff Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center at the time of his passing, and considered a friend by all.

He was born Jan. 11, 1935, in Teaneck at Holy Name Hospital, the son of Viola Kaufmann and Carl Weil,; he was predeceased by both.

A beloved member and historian of the Pascack Reformed Church family, a freemason, supporter of the Tri-Boro Ambulance Corps and Montvale Fire Department and member of the Pascack Historical Society.

Weil was held in high esteem by all in the community. He graced us with the gift of our community’s shared memory, uplifting and reminding us of our roots and history -- even to the point of having a museum in his home in Montvale.

He leaves behind the loving hearts of his two cousins, Elsie Thompson and Matthew Weil, as well as the caring hands of his neighbors -- the Bardes, Pic and O’Neill families and his church family, which continues to hold him in the light.

Weil requested that instead of flowers, donations be sent to Pascack Reformed Church.

Two services will be conducted in his honor, a Masonic funeral service by Fulton Friendship Lodge No. 102, F. & A.M. and a traditional church service. Both will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Pascack Reformed Church, 65 Pascack Road, Park Ridge. A 5 p.m. burial will follow in the church’s south cemetery. All are invited to witness a life well-lived.
