Antonino 'Andy' Rizzo, 84, Of River Vale

RIVER VALE, N.J. -- Antonino “Andy” Rizzo, 84, of River Vale, died Wednesday, Sept. 14. He was 84.

He was born in New York City in 1931. He lived most his life in Paramus before moving to River Vale five years ago. 

He was a self-employed carpenter, working under the company name of Paradell Construction in Paramus. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Later in life, he found his joy as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

He is survived by his wife, Angelina; children, Donna and her husband Doug Holmgren, Gina and her husband Jan Moretti, Michael Rizzo and his partner Edward Hahn Jr. MD and Anthony Rizzo and his wife Cynthia; seven grandchildren, Danielle, Andrea, Emily, Christopher, Nicholas, Anthony and Benjamin; brother, Joseph Rizzo and his wife Ruth; and his sister, Josephine Masci. 

The family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m. Sunday followed by a memorial talk at 4 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. A committal prayer will be said at 11 a.m. Monday at the All Faiths Mausoleum in the George Washington Memorial Park, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus.
