Westwood was twelfth on a list of communities with a populations greater than 10,000 that reported complete crime data to the FBI.

"Westwood has a reputation as a charming town with a strong spirit of volunteerism. And, in part due to programs like the Drug Take Back event, it’s also earning a reputation as one of the state’s safest places to live," SafeWise said in its report.

"With just two violent crimes reported to FBI authorities, both being aggravated assaults, Westwood certainly deserves its spot on our safe communities list."

SafeWise reviewed the latest FBI Crime Report statistics, comparing the number of reported violent crimes (murder, robbery, rape, and aggravated assault) and property crimes (burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson) in each city.
