In a June 17 letter to the board of education, Brentnall wrote he is resigning so that he “may pursue other opportunities.”
Brentnall took the position heading the district’s K-8 schools last summer after the board unanimously voted for him last May.
Brentnall, who receives a salary of $145,000, was to have remained in the position through 2020.
The agenda for tomorrow’s night board meeting includes accepting Brentnall’s resignation and separation agreement and approving an interim superintendent for the 2016-2017 school year.
