HILLSDALE, N.J. -- It's apple-picking season -- the ideal time to enjoy the crisp fall weather -- not to mention apple cider, cider doughnuts and just-baked apple pie.

At Demarest Farms in Hillsdale, there are14 varieties of pick-your-own apples, along with tractor pulled hay wagon rides, pet and feed-friendly farm animals, a corn maze, and lots of fresh-baked goodies. 

Apple picking hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Available at the moment: Red and Golden Delicious, Cortland, Gala, Greenings, Liberty, Fortune, and Freedom, though best to check the farm's Facebook page for apple options.
