Last month, Bergen County Players presented a $2,550 donation to Valley Home Care, in support of the hospital's Journeys art therapy program.
Through their donation, the Bergen County Players are working to help children and adolescents who are dealing with a family member or loved one's life-threatening illness or death. Journeys is a nationally recognized support program in which professional clinicians -- many with years of experience -- use art and play therapy to help children develop skills to better cope with an anticipated or occurred loss.
“Thanks to this generous donation from Bergen County Players, Valley Home Care staff is able to provide this critical support program in a safe and caring environment to many more children and adolescents in our community,” said Laura Loumeau-May, an art therapist with Valley Home Care.
