The initiative aims to bring awareness, education and opportunity to help reduce mental health stigma.
The concert is at 8 p.m. Oct. 24, at the Acoustic Cafe, 25 Fremont Ave.
Special guests RocheandFather (brother David Roche and daughter Oona) will open the show. WFDU Radio's Jerry Treacy will be the guest emcee. Suzzy Roche is a founding member of the acclaimed singing group "The Roches," originally from Park Ridge.
In addition to recording numerous albums with The Roches, Suzzy Roche has recorded two solo albums, and an unusual collection of musical prayers, "Zero Church" (with Maggie Roche), which was developed at the Institute on the Arts and Civic Dialogue at Harvard University. She also has written two books; a novel "Wayward Saints," and a children's book "Want To Be in a Band?"
Lucy Wainwright Roche and Suzzy Roche recently released their first collaboration, "Fairytale and Myth," which won the VOX/POP Independent Music Awards for The Best Singer/Songwriter Album for 2014.
David Roche wrote his first song in a Park Ridge bedroom at #8 Villa Court when he was 5 and has been performing ever since. His most recent CD is "Harp Trouble In Heaven." His daughter Oona Roche is in her third year of the acting conservatory at SUNY Purchase.
