Hear Reading Of 'Polar Express' At Westwood Book Store

WESTWOOD, N.J. — Hear the childhood Christmas classic the “Polar Express” read Saturday at Shaw Books in Westwood.

The 1986 Caldecott Medal winner celebrates its 30th year as a childhood holiday classic. The story is narrated by a boy riding a North Pole train who is chosen by Santa to receive the season’s first gift. The book is praised for its detailed illustrations and calm, relaxing story.

In polls, the book was named "Teachers' Top 100 Books for Children” and "Top 100 Picture Books" of all time.

The storytelling event takes place at 5 p.m., just before Westwood’s Home for the Holidays parade themed “Toys on Parade.”
