A young girl was hit and killed by a school bus in the Hudson Valley The incident took place in Rockland County around 11:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 16 in the area of S. Madison Ave., in Spring Valley, said the Spring Valley Police According to Det. A funeral was held on Tuesday, March 22 for a New Jersey man whose body was found in New Orleans nearly two months after his disappearance. Michael Gelfand, a father of four from Jackson, arrived in NoLa for a one-day business trip on Jan. 5, but had not been heard from since Jan. 6. A video showing a Lakewood resident refusing to accept medical care because the volunteer first responders from Lakewood EMS were Jewish, Yeshiva World News reports. "She don't want to talk to you guys," the woman's husband is heard telling the EMTs. "No judio." "If she doesn't feel well you have to get medical help," an EMT can be heard saying. A former Central Jersey pilot among three people killed in a two-car crash in Michigan on Monday was being remembered for his quiet acts of kindness. Yoni Kohn, 46 -- formerly of Edison and Lakewood -- and two others died in the northern Van Buren County crash around 12 p.m. when one car was rear-ended, causing both to roll over, WoodTV reports. UPDATE: Teaneck police in consultation with the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office determined that a Christmas incident at a popular Jewish kosher deli in town "didn't rise to the level of a bias crime." The man entered Sammy's Bagels on Queen Anne Road and said "take off your f****** hat" to one man and then to another, Township Manager Dean Kazinci said.
