19: Bergen County High School Goes Remote For One Week
Another Bergen County high school has switched to remote learning after one individual returned a positive COVID-19 test. A non-teaching staff member at the Park Ridge Junior-Senior High School returned a positive rapid test according to a letter from officials sent Oct. 13. On Oct. 19, the community received an update saying the test was a lab-confirmed positive. Classes were being held remotely at the school from Oct. 20 to Oct. 26. 19: 5 Cases Close Regional Bergen County High School
A regional high school in Bergen County has switched to remote learning for two weeks after five COVID-19 tests came back positive. Over the weekend, three individuals at Ramapo High School in Franklin Lakes tested positive for the virus, Interim Superintendent Bruce Watson said in a joint release with Ramapo HS and Indian Hills HS principals. COVID-19 is taking its toll on schools in Bergen County's Pascack Valley. Westwood Regional Schools announced Sunday evening that all schools in the district would transition to remote instruction. The district did not say how many people tested positive, or if any at all. Only that classes would be remote until early November. Three additional schools in Bergen and Hudson counties had closed due to COVID-19 cases as of Friday. Nearly 40 "groups" were under quarantine at Garfield Middle School where a pair of teachers tested positive, school principal and Mayor Richard Rigoglioso said. Monmouth University has cancelled all in-person classes and sporting events after confirming more than 300 positive coronavirus cases. School officials blame an off-campus “super-spreader” event for the recent spike -- and more than a third of the newest cases. 19: Bergen County Middle School Goes Remote After 2 Students Test Positive
A another Bergen County school has been relegated to remote learning due to positive COVID-19 cases among students. A pair of Tenafly teens tested positive after attending a religious event outside of the borough, where participants were not wearing masks or social distancing, Mayor Mark Zinna told NorthJersey.com. The pair attend Tenafly middle School and are involved in the borough's recreation program, which has been suspended. The borough's soccer cage, skate park and basketball courts were also closed. The West Essex Regional School District has transitioned back to remote learning, NorthJersey.com reports citing an email to parents. A school for elementary and middle school students in a small Bergen County town is going all-remote after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19. The Robert L.
