Wanted Offender Nabbed By Off-Duty Hasbrouck Heights Detective, On-Duty Officer
A detective and police officer from Hasbrouck Heights teamed up to nab a wanted longtime repeat offender from Garfield. Detective Nicholas Brunetti was off duty when he saw Michael Villamizar, 53, leave the Walgreens on Boulevard and pedal off on a bicycle, Lt. John Behr said. Villamizar was wanted for a May 3 shoplifting at the same pharmacy, the lieutenant said. The detective flagged down Officer John Mullins, who stopped Villamazir on Raymond Street. Motorist Freed By Firefighters After Crashing Into Her Hasbrouck Heights Home
A Hasbrouck Heights motorist appeared OK after her SUV plowed into the attached garage of her home and borough firefighters extricated her, responders said. The house on Raymond Street between Burton Avenue and Boulevard may have sustained some structural damage that would require attention, however, they said. A building inspector will make that call. The GMC Acadia crashed straight through one of the closed garage doors and struck a support column shortly before 5:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, responders said. Hasbrouck Heights Nab Four After Victim Is Beaten, Robbed On Street
It didn't take long for Hasbrouck Heights police to collar four young teens -- three of them from Hackensack -- who authorities said robbed another on the street after punching him in the face. The borough victim said the muggers approached him in the 200 block of Raymond Street just after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Detective Lt. Michael Colaneri He said he was "punched in the face, thrown to the ground, and his Apple I-Phone and $80 in cash were taken," Colaneri said. The robbers fled in a blue vehicle, he said.
