A woman was struck and killed by a train in Bergen County on Saturday, Jan. 27, New Jersey Transit officials confirmed. The pedestrian was struck near the New Bridge Landing station in River Edge by Pascack Valley Line train 2118 around 4:45 p.m., an NJ Transit spokesperson tells Daily Voice. A pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a car crossing a street in Midland Park. The 57-year-old man was in the crosswalk on Paterson Avenue at Goffle Road when he was struck around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, Midland Park Police Chief Michael Powderley said. The driver remained at the scene and was given a summons for failing to yield to a pedestrian, the chief said. A 35-year-old Pennsylvania man was struck and killed while crossing Route 80 in Sussex County Wednesday night, Sept. 20, state police confirmed. Troopers responded to the accident on the westbound side near milepost 23.2 in Byram Township around 7:55 p.m., NJSP Det. Jeffrey Lebron told Daily Voice. A Hyundai passenger vehicle was heading westbound when it fatally struck a man from Effort, PA, who was crossing the roadway, Lebron said. The man’s identity was being withheld pending family notification. The accident remains under investigation.

Pedestrian Killed By Hoboken-Bound Commuter Train From Port J, NJ Transit Confirms
A Hoboken-bound NJ Transit train from Port Jervis struck and killed a pedestrian near the Paterson train station late Tuesday morning, the agency confirmed. Train #58 left Port J at 9:21 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Hoboken at 11:38 a.m., an agency spokesperson said around noontime June 13. It struck the pedestrian at 11:13 a.m., he said.
