The tribe has spoken — and this fall, five contestants from the Northeast will try their luck on the beaches of Fiji as part of Survivor’s 49th season.
CBS unveiled the new cast on Wednesday, Aug. 20, and it includes plenty of familiar hometowns from the Daily Voice coverage area.
Among them is 28-year-old Jawan Pitts, who grew up in Salem, New Jersey, and now works as a video editor in Los Angeles.
Nicole Mazullo, 26, is a Long Island native now living in Philadelphia, where she works as a financial crime consultant.

The executive producer of "60 Minutes" has resigned, saying he could no longer run the news program independently as the TV show is locked in a legal battle with President Donald Trump, according to reports.
Bill Owens announced his resignation in a memo to staff on Tuesday, April 22, The New York Times reported. The Greenwich, Connecticut, resident has worked at CBS News for 34 years.

Tracy Morgan Recovering After Vomiting Courtside At Knicks Game
Tracy Morgan, who lives in Bergen County, said he is on the mend after he vomited while sitting courtside at a New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden on Monday, March 17.
Footage widely shared on social media showed the "30 Rock star" being wheeled out of Madison Square Garden with a bloody nose.
The game, which the Knicks won 116-95, was delayed in the third quarter for 10 minutes. But all is well, Morgan, an Alpine resident, said, sharing a photo on Instagram from his hospital bed.

MTV VMAs Returning To Newark
The VMAs are going to rock The Rock.
MTV announced on Tuesday, May 23, the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards will be held at the Prudential Center in Newark for the second year in a row on Sept. 12. This is the third time the VMAs will be held in Newark, having also been held there in 2019. The Prudential Center is getting to play host to the 40th annual ceremony.
