Driver Seized After Sunday Morning Crash Splits Utility Pole In Ridgewood
A driver was taken after custody following a Sunday morning crash that snapped a utility pole in Ridgewood, causing scattered power and communications outages in the area. The uninjured driver was brought to Glen Rock police headquarters for a blood-alcohol test and then to village headquarters after the Acura RLX slammed into the pole on North Van Dien Avenue shortly before 8:30 a.m. March 3. Car Takes Out Traffic Light Frame In Ridgewood Crash
A driver was slapped with a summons after a crash that took out the frame of two traffic lights in Ridgewood Sunday. Ambulances traveling to and from The Valley Hospital's emergency room were re-routed until the stanchion at the intersection of North Van Dien and Linwood avenues was replaced. No injuries were reported in the two-car crash around 3 p.m.

Officers OK after Ridgewood Police Cars Collide
Two Ridgewood police officers escaped serious injury Sunday after their patrol vehicles collided while both were responding to a CPR call. Both were taken to the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood for evaluation after the crash involving a marked SUV and sedan at East Glen Avenue and North Van Dien Avenue, one of which snapped a utility pole. Responders included village firefighters, EMS and Emergency Services members. Boyd A. Loving contributed to this account.
