One of the drivers was taken by ambulance to the Valley Hospital nearby with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening. The vehicles collided at the intersection of East Ridgewood Avenue and North Irving Street around 9:45 a.m. Aug. 26. Power Knocked Out, Road Temporarily Closed When Contractor's Truck Downs Pole In Ridgewood A home contractor's truck toppled a utility pole, knocking out power to some customers and temporarily closing busy East Ridgewood Avenue between North Maple Avenue and North Irving Street. The Home Improvements driver out of Park Ridge escaped serious injury when the pole fell on East Ridgewood Avenue around 10 a.m. Monday, July 24. Ridgewood PD Seek Landscaping Truck That Injured Girl, 12, On Bicycle Ridgewood police were looking for the driver of a landscaping truck who took off Saturday after a 12-year-old girl on her bicycle struck the vehicle when it suddenly stopped short. The girl was treated for minor injuries at The Valley Hospital and released after the crash at North Irving Street and East Ridgewood Avenue, which occurred when the girl's brakes failed shortly after 9 a.m., Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke said.
