19 Kilos Of Drug-Laced Poppy Pods Shipped To Bergen County Home, 2 Men Charged
Two men have been charged after authorities intercepted nearly 19 kilograms of dried poppy pods shipped from overseas to a private Bergen County home, officials announced Friday, Feb. 13.
Karanjit Singh, 24, Jagroop Singh, 25, both of Wood-Ridge, are charged with possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
Jail records show both Singhs are Indian nationals, and ICE has lodged detainers against each of them.

A 46-year-old Millville man was arrested and charged on Wednesday, June 11, after he was discovered to be manufacturing drugs out of his home, authorities said.
Bruce Low, who was charged last year with running a dog fighting ring, was hit with numerous drug offenses after he was found to be in possession of large amounts of opioids, morphine and other drug paraphernalia, Attorney General Matthew Platkin said.
