A gun and drug investigation that began with a routine traffic stop in Teaneck last month has resulted in additional charges against one suspect and the arrest of a second, authorities announced Tuesday, March 4.
On Monday, Feb. 10, at approximately 10:52 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Cedar Lane and arrested Ross Daniels-Lynn, 18, of Teaneck, after discovering he was carrying an illegal firearm, Teaneck Police Chief Andrew R. McGurr said.

Two New York men wanted in separate violent crimes were tracked down last month in Bergen County, thanks to the county's newly-launched Crime Suppression Team, authorities said.
The first arrest was made on Saturday, Dec. 21, when members of the team identified 51-year-old Randolph R. Smith of Far Rockaway, NY, who was wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in New York City, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Smith was spotted in the Ramsey area, and when confronted by the Crime Suppression Team, he provided a false name to investigators, Musella said.

A Maywood resident returned to her apartment on Tuesday, Nov. 19, to find a light on in the rear bedroom and assumed her husband was home, authorities said.
Instead, an unknown man emerged, fled through the bedroom window, and left the Howcroft Road apartment ransacked, according to Maywood Police Chief Terence Kenny.

On Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021, Augusto Perez stabbed Omar Cruz, a 64-year-old Albany, NY resident, to death behind the Ulta Beauty store in the Bergen Town Center mall in Maywood, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Muella said.

Maywood resident Jocelyn Husslein died peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 10, while surrounded by family, her obituary on the Vander Plaat Memorial Home website says. She was 63 years old.
Jocelyn's husband, Lyle Saperstiein, said in a Facebook post that she died after a two-year battle with metastatic breast cancer.
In addition to Lyle, Jocelyn is survived by her children, Nadine and her husband, David, and her sons, Frederik Lester and his husband, Andrew, and Kyle. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mikayla, Nina, and Noah.
