Coffee With A Cop: Bergen Sheriff Adds Twist To Help Veterans, Homeless In Need
Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton is adding a layer to the popular “coffee with a cop” campaign -- both literally and figuratively. Cureton is asking residents and merchants to bring along a new or slightly used coat -- to be donated to help veterans in need and the homeless stay warm -- in exchange for some chit-chat and java. “We’re also collecting hats, scarves and gloves,” the sheriff said. Krispy Kreme Dream Becoming Bergen County Reality
The dream of a Bergen County Krispy Kreme location is becoming closer to a reality. The doughnut franchise had the signage up at its new East Rutherford location Wednesday. The store is expected to open sometime this year, but it's unclear exactly when. Krispy Kreme officials were not immediately available for comment when Daily Voice reached out Wednesday. Here's another reason to look forward to summer in Bergen County: Krispy Kreme is coming. The doughnut chain is aiming to open sometime Summer 2019, in the vacant bank space on Route 17 in the Liberty Commons shopping center, BoozyBurbs reports.
