Body Of Missing Paterson Swimmer, 19, Recovered From Delaware River Emergency crews have recovered the body of a missing swimmer from the Delaware River after a three-day search. Jose Madera Martinez, 19, of Paterson, was found around 11:15 a.m. Sunday, July 16 near Kittatinny Point in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, according to a release from the NPS. Madera Martinez was last seen “struggling in the current” around 8 p.m. Thursday, July 13 at Karamac — located about a mile north of Route 80, Daily Voice reported. Paterson Swimmer, 19, Goes Missing At Delaware Water Gap Crews were continuing to search for a 19-year-old swimmer who went missing at the Delaware Water Gap. Witnesses said the Paterson man was trying to swim from the shoreline to the bridge abutments with three others when he began struggling in the current around 8 p.m. Thursday, July 13 at Karamac — located about a mile north of Route 80, in Warren County, officials said.
