Off-Duty Cop Killed In Fiery Crash On Route 295 An off-duty Trenton police officer was identified as the victim killed in a fiery crash early Sunday morning, June 22, on a state highway, officials confirmed. Timothy Long, 50, was driving a Honda SUV northbound on I-295 near milepost 45.8 in Westampton Township around 5:58 a.m. when he lost control, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan said. The vehicle went off the road, struck a traffic sign and a tree, then caught fire, according to Marchan. Long died at the scene. The crash remains under investigation. College Student From Morris County Killed In I-295 Crash (Update) Authorities have identified the 20-year-old driver killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 295 in Mercer County. Samuel Beale, of the Kenvil section of Roxbury, was driving a Nissan SUV northbound near milepost 60.6 in Hamilton shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday, April 14, when he veered off the highway to the left and struck a concrete bridge support and guardrail, New Jersey State Police said. Beale was pronounced dead at the scene, State Police said. Beale was a sophomore economics major at Rider University in Lawrenceville, according to his LinkedIn.com profile.
