Two people died and dozens of others were injured when a Pennsylvania-bound bus crashed off I-84 in New York, authorities said. The bus carrying 40 high school students and four adults was heading toward Greeley, PA for band camp, when it tumbled town a 50-foot ravine near Exit 15 in Wawayanda around 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, New York State Police and NY Gov. Kathy Hochul said. The two fatalities have been identified as Long Island residents: 43-year-old Gina Pellettiere of Massapequa, and 77-year-old Beatrice Ferarri of Farmingdale. Long Drive From Home: Franklin Lakes Police Bust Three In Route 208 Heroin, Oxy Stop
It’s more than an hour and a half drive to Paterson from the homes of a Pennsylvania trio whom Franklin Lakes police said they caught with heroin, Oxycodone and hypodermic needles during a traffic stop. Officer David Blum pulled their car over on Route 208 just after 12:30 a.m. Monday, Capt. John Bakelaar said. Arrested, charged with drug counts and released pending court hearings were Christopher Scurto, 26, of Greeley, Alissa Winters, 26, of Newfoundland and Sabrina Ray, 41, of Greentown.

The ringleader and a crew of 16 members of a Paterson-based heroin ring tied to the Bloods street gang – along with 16 accused buyers from Bergen, Rockland and Orange counties -- were named in a sweeping indictment produced by a massive multi-agency investigation, New Jersey authorities said Thursday.
