Emily Lenora Fleming died at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia on Thursday, June 23, her obituary says. Emily had just finished fourth grade at the Florence M. Burd Elementary School in Andover, where she played the flute and was a dedicated safety patrol member, according to her memorial. Authorities: Kearny Man Sexually Assaulted Girl In Church Youth Group He Oversaw A Kearny church youth group leader has been charged with sexually assaulting a teenage girl from his group at the church they belonged to. Esteban Ruiz, 21, of Kearny met the 16-year-old at the Good Shepherd Church in Kearny in April 2018, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. "Ruiz met the victim in his capacity as a youth leader at [the church]," Suarez said. Ruiz, who currently works for the Centro de Adoracion in Hackensack, was arrested at his home Monday evening without incident. He is facing charges of sex assault and child endangerment.
